What I Like About Windows 7 Ultimate and Gadgets
By CiscoPixie
I love the way the default Windows 7 looks. It looks so professional and clean that I never put any shortcuts on my desktop. Instead, i pinned them to the taskbar so what you see there is what I use. Often.
When Windows 7 was released and I had a look at what was previously known as 'My Computer', this looks better! The left side panel has a bar of favourites which stores your desktop, downloads and recent places you've accessed.
There's a thing called libraries which groups Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos into one place with seperate folders. It's now even easier to find your way around.
Computer shows all of your drives on your computer like hard disk drives and cd/dvd drives.
On the bottom, it shows the name of your computer (in my case, ash-laptop) and how much RAM and what my processor speed is.
On top there are options to get to control panel, organize things, and map a network drive.
The system view of Windows 7 shows you information about your computer. In my case I am running Windows 7 Ultimate which was really expensive but so totally worth it as you get all the features that Windows 7 needs.
It shows processor speed, RAM, what system type i have (some have 32 bit if you have 2GB of RAM or less), and whether or not my system supports touch screen which this laptop can't.
It show's the computer name and workgroup and also whether or not Windows 7 is activated. To activate your Windows 7, visit Microsoft's site or enter the activation code found inside the box.
The control panel in Windows 7 allows you to tweak absolutely almost everything on your system from how it looks to how it sounds, what's installed on it and how to update it. I went through each option because I was curious and found amazing ways of tweaking my computer to make it faster.
The Windows Experience is unique. It runs tests on your hardware and shows you how well it runs on a scale of 1-7.9. Your base score is the lowest value of either of the tested options. The higher the better.
It also shows you when the system last did this experience check and on the left side panel, ways of tweaking your system to increase those base scores.
Windows Gadgets are totally awesome! The first picture shows the gadgets you can add to your desktop (kind of like Google Desktop). There are many more gadgets found at Microsoft's website which has been included and the second picture shows the two gadgets I have chosen: time and weather. I use a program called Rainlendar for my calendar. It's free and below is a link for that too.

What I love about Windows 7 Ultimate is that I can change the language for the whole interface. Working with software translation, this experience has been invaluable.
